Of course they don't. All authoritarians hate challenge.

Not wanting their faith challenged might mean that they are insecure, or that they are intolerant, or easily annoyed, or any number of other things. Why do you jump right away to authoritarian?

Putting certain ideas off limits is a sign of the weakness of the ideas.

Or a sign of weakness or intolerance on the part of those holding the ideas.
