You are so right. That's a little gem I had forgotten about. I wish Scorsese would branch out more- I wish all the good directors would. It would have been such a kick to see Merchant Ivory do a gangster picture, and see Scorsese do an English drawing room comedy or drama. Altman did it- I'd love to see other American directors do it. I LOVED Gosford Park. Loved it. And I would never have expected that from Altman. Actors, the good ones, stretch, and I'd like to see more stretching from directors.
