Dave, just remind you of two facts:

First, September 22, 1997 -- Micron Technology, Inc., today reported net income of $332 million. MU is pure DRAM manufacturer.

Second,higher density chips are cheaper. when DRAM drop to certain price, old 16mb equipment will be obsolete(You can not make a dime from it). DRAM manufacturers have two choices: either get out of DRAM business or UPGRADE.
