the authoritarian must represent an entity that is genuinely in control of the realm... It's hard to be an effective authoritarian if you have no real authority. <g> I prefer to focus, though, on the difference between control of ideas, themselves, and control of personal space. I strongly support privacy and property rights and personal liberty so controlling personal space is a Good Thing. Controlling ideas by putting them on a pedestal is abhorrent to me. Decorating one's personal space with pedestals, if it floats your boat, is just fine.
