Mytec Misses the Boat Again!!! The Sept.26 issue of Computerworld reports the following on page 3 : "NO PASSBOOK NEEDED The Conavi Bank of Medellin, Colombia, and the Bank Central Asia in Jakarta both decided to use Identix biometric devices from Identix Inc. to identify customers via fingerprint scans. By comparing a fingertip against a file created when a person enrols, the system instantly verifies the customer's identity and, for financial transaction tracking, creates an irrefutable electronic audit trail of events, Identix says." This was another market that Myec was supposed to be getting in on. I recall Mytec personell saying several times that Identix technology analysed the whole fingerprint and was therefore too slow. Despite this, it is apparent that Identix has one advantage that Mytec to-date does not... They can close sales!!!
