Well, okay, thank you, el polvo. Let's shake hands. Of course, the FAA findings trump all, but as you know - every single, ding/dang year, professional/commercial pilots have to go to training school. A big, if not huge, part of the training is crash prevention, (probably not the exactly correct term, but you know what I mean) and part of the crash prevention training is going over actual crashes, all defined by the situations/circumstances...When pilots hear of a crash and get bits - or maybe a big chunk - of info, they relate it to similar incidents and make informed comment based on that. Professional pilots are experts; they have to be. Right now some are comparing Lidle crash to some other famous baseball person whose instructor was also aboard the plane, but who failed in his oversight.
I also know from a personal experience - summer 82 - that pilot instructors do get distracted/lackadaisical. |
