Actually Calc Risk offers a good perspective on the FOR number here. It's another Bully-Brazil America divide issue. Take that 66%, slice and dice it some more, and I'm sure you'd find about half of those in very dicey shape. I blogged on an aspect of this on Wednesday:

"More than a third of homeowners, approximately 34 percent, own their homes free and clear."

This group is probably risk adverse and it's unlikely they will borrow significantly on their homes to fuel consumption. So the entire debt burden falls on the other 66%.
