Hi John,

looks like the media and pollsters are finally getting what all of us dumb-schmuck American citizens have been shouting about for several years now!

It's the oil independence, stupid!

Al Gore has this issue all bottled up. I hope he can capitalize and I hope the Democrats are smart enough to realize that Al Gore has the best chance of winning based on his long running stance on energy. He was touting his energy policies during the Clinton year and those policies and views have only sharpened in the last few years. He's my vote.

The only danger now is that the Republicans aren't idiots. They are polling too. Already Bush has been asking Americans not to get complacent about alternative fuels now that gas prices are going down. If I were the Democrats, I'd hit this issue hard. I'd point out that Bush is a big F___King hypocrite talking about alternative fuels while he hasn't raised mpg standards in Detroit and while he hasn't spent but pennies on tax breaks and alternative energy incentives. In addition, he passed an oil company tax break of about $13B in he much vauntd Energy Bill.

I've been saying it forever and I'll say it again. My politics have come down to one issue..OIL INDEPENDENCE!

It certainly is gratifying to see others are finally getting it too. Thx for posting the article, John.
