loantech,

i spoke with Alex MacDougall last night for a couple hours on PLM.

interesting that he acknowledge someone is manipulating the share price. he basically said that an exempt short who is also a long has been trying to accumulate a big position on this weakness.

all the fundamentals are strong and are simply getting stronger.

i asked about project financing, and it looks like the company may enter into a non-recourse loan with a bank to fund a portion of the capital costs for bringing production online. share issuance will be minimal, if any. other funding looks like it might come from a nickel refiner who wants to secure the nickel hydroxide stream for a sizeable up front sum, $80 million +, plus at a future discount to the market price.

i got a hint that teck and cleveland cliffs may be fighting over the company at some point down the road, i.e. after permitting or at initial production...

alex's words to describe polymet's acquisiton of northmet plus the plant and other associated infrastructure equipment will be known "as the biggest coup" in the base metals world.
