Cramer is a position trader, & yes, a "shoe" salesman as well. His salesman skills is why he's successful at what he does . . . whatever it is.

Because he's a position trader & a shoe salesman, IMHO, you can't take what he says one week & apply it to the next. He, like you, have just got to reevaluate the position as the situation changes.

In the past year or so, it's now becoming clear to the market that the circumstances surrounding ORCL's business & the factors that make up its business have changed.

So what Cramer was saying when the stock was trading around 12 is irrelevant to what he's saying today. As you allude, there's more to making an investment decision than just a position trade. Larry has pretty much morphed the ORCL biz model into something else it was not a few years ago. The overall market for IT spending has changed. It's this longer term vision, not the position trade, that will yield uncommon results. That's not to say that position trading won't, if you're good. It's just that they are two different ways of investing. JMO.
