I don't know. Maybe it's just the way it is. I remember traveling in Asia, I was waiting on an elevator. When the door opened people were "aggressive" getting on it. Myself? I knew that elevator wasn't going anywhere until I got on it. Anticipating traffic signals blew me away. Here in the states, red means two more. In Asia they seem to start taking off when the opposing traffic signal turns yellow.
