What you describe are political problems.

Yet you attack, attempt to smear, real science.

Whats up for discussion is if we have Global Warming or not.

The result is unwanted, uncomfortable. Reality often is.

Give me a single instance where the worst examples of humankind have not tried to cash in on any turn of events. If there is a possibility of a fast buck to be made, droves of rouges always turn up.

Is this the fault of the scientists? No, of course it isn't.

Crichton et al try to use a broad brush to throw everyone in the same basket that does not suit their comfortable view of the world. They attack the science as they don't understand it. Whether it's real or not just doesn't bother them.

The politics may be a problem, attacking the science is not the way to go fix it. Verify the data yes, but we see precious little of that from your camp.
