One more, this from 2003. Never really thought of this in the Sonus context, but if they believe the backhauls are coming together it means all-IP, which telegraphs their intentions to upgrade their backhaul with RelD, which was eventually discarded in favor of DO RevA.

"They do not feel even Release D will be fully inter-operable with a WCDMA evolution, but do expect backhaul and back-office to come together. Still will require multi-mode chipsets/handsets to roam between the two."
