Well, you are free to correct the history at Wikipedia, make it more simplistic but not include any if-and-then-theories and monday quarterbacking, which are more for video and computer games when usually actually have perfect intelligence, can try again and again. The Cuba Crises helped for some of the worst. Sometimes it is very risky to go so fast that supply lines don't work and can be cut off, especially if the other side counts on that possibility. Btw, the strategic agreement was to meet in Berlin, and it made great propaganda stuff. What was worse was to unilaterally not follow the agreements in the years to follow.
