I think you may mean Trader calculates volume from the difference between Cumulative Volume that is sent with each trade (not "difference between price change").

After restoration of data flow, the very large volume figure that appears is the next cumulative volume figure sent for the new trade.
Since the volume figure after interruption has no reference to calculate from it just displays the net result of ZERO, then the next total is the newest cumulative (the whole total)
