One of my good friends is just such a pilot. Having a brother in law who was military pilot gave me a window into the culture. My friend who chose to fly a large plane to qualify for commercial pilot made it more complete.

I flew on a puddle jumper on the way to your home county and sat across from a new commercial pilot. He flew a private jet before landing the commercial gig. He was willing to tell me a few stories.

I believe that most commercial pilots are very qualified, though some stick around too long.

My point was that the blanket statement that flying on a private plane is dangerous is not accurate.
