Joe Osha prediction that AMD will let Discrete Graphics "Die on the Vine"

I think JO is guessing that AMD's integrated CPU-GPU will eliminate the need for discrete graphics in the notebook and mainstream desktop market. After that, the main markets that will be left are Intel platforms (where AMD is vulnerable to Intel bundling and/or CPU-GPU of their own) and AMD QC and high end DC. The latter market will be comparitively small and could be conceded to NVidea.

This prediction may make sense as GM's will be low and R&D costs of discrete graphics are high due to the short product cycles. I'll guess that there will be significantly less discrete graphics products starting in 2008.
