Essex Wins $40M Contract biz.yahoo.com Monday October 16, 12:05 pm ET Essex Wins $40M Contract for Radar System COLUMBIA, Md. (AP) -- Essex Corp., a signal processing and cybersecurity company, on Monday said it received a five-year contract worth up to $40 million for software configurable radar systems, spares, engineering and support. The contract allows defense and related customers to purchase the Multi-Band Synthetic Aperture Radar system, or MB-SAR, as well as related engineering services and support. The company did not name a specific customer and Essex representatives did not immediately return a call for comment Monday morning. The pact also provides terms for leasing an MB-SAR system, for production of more units and for modifying the system to meet requirements not included in the base system. Two delivery orders worth about $4 million have been received under the contract so far and that work is expected to occur over the next six months, according to the company.
