The Nazis were not insane, and what they did made sense objectively because they believed that they were in an existential struggle against both the Jooooooos and the Soviets (who were really doing the bidding of the Jooooooos.)

If you believe that the Jooooos and the Commies are out to destroy your world, killing Jews and Commies makes objective sense.

And, in point of fact, Hitler got most of what he wanted, he did kill most of the Jews in Europe, and most of the rest left Europe and went to America or Israel, and the Commies were stopped halfway through Germany but didn't get any further.

The Nazis weren't actually killing people at random.

Going back to what I said before, I stand by my position that murdering thousands of civilians at random is senseless and incomprehensible.

I agree with you that not all of the killings are random, but some are. I grant you that, say, a Palestinian suicide bomber blowing up an Israeli pizza parlor in Haifa makes sense from his perspective. But blowing up a Palestinian pizza parlor in the Gaza Strip does not.
