i'm still not sure where you got the idea that the National Health Survey defines binge drinking as a drink a day. maybe DMA said that, but the referenced document does not say it as i showed. on the face of it, a drink a day is not binge drinking.

binge: a period or bout, usually brief, of excessive indulgence, as in eating, drinking alcoholic beverages, etc.; spree.

here is the original Survey; let me know if you find it defines "binge" as drinking one drink a day for a month.
