Don't think we found any in my area, then. The homeless were living down in the big city, Ukiah, pop. 15 K. Plus it was still the rainy season up here, and they tended to hang out further south.
Now, it would be easier. (For one thing, I work in the hospital; all I'd have to do is hang in the ER for the day). The incorporated towns have passed panhandling laws, so some have headed out into the unincorporated areas. Then some idiot moved to town, and promptly put an ad in High Times that the town needed marijuana trimmers. That brought a bunch of scruffs. He was killed; the scruffs are still here. So we have lots of homeless, and they are easy to find.
