Hi all,
I personally know some of the BOD members, particularly Dr.Carbonell and Dr. Raj Reddy. Both are in the cutting edge of research in computer science, and in fact, Dr. Reddy, as you probably know, sits in the advisory board of Microsoft. Both were my former professors when I was at CMU, and both are respected world-wide in terms of their skills. The team that have developed over these years at CGIX are really hardworking programmers and other support staffs, and their level of commitment to hard work and perfection are exemplary. The fact that CGIX has close relationship with CMU is a definite plus, since that means not only they can get some expertise at low costs, but they could also utilize some hardwares available at the School of Computer Science for this purpose.
My only concern at this point is about the consistency in earnings. In fact, this is one of the cautions that CGIX explicitly mentioned in the prospectus. Given the nature of business/contracts that CGIX is enganged in, some revenue might not be realized in a predictable manner the Wall Street likes to see, because of billing/progress of the work done. Subsequently, it may falsely indicate that earnings in any quarter is down (esp. compared to the previous qtr), and in another qtr, it may falsely indicate that the earnings jump drastically, because of this kind of billing process.
What do you all think about this?
