Edited: In a thorough and civil discussion we have been able to flush out all view points and differences. There is little left to discuss on the original premise, so unless there are new points of view, that bone is pretty much chewed up. That is the idea behind the thread.

You may present your point of view and back it up with as much substance as you can muster, as Elroy has done. Everyone who is willing and able may counter that with other points of view.

Once that is done we can either move on or degenerate into the less honorable personal attacks. The latter of which is not what we are here for.
