Oromonte Drills 133.7 gr/t Au Over 2 Meters at Gold Star Mine
CALGARY, Oct. 17 /CNW/ - Oromonte Resources Inc. is pleased to announce
results from the most recently reported assays in its ongoing drilling program
at Nambija, Ecuador. The results include a drill hole in the Gold Star sector
that intersected a high grade gold zone of 8 meters long with an average grade
of 35.19 gr/t Au, including 2 meters at 133.7 gr/t Au. The estimated true
thickness is 7.5 meters. Visible gold was observed in core sample SG15-14
(drill hole SG15). The complete drill results are attached as an addendum to
this news release.
The geochemical assays were analyzed by ALS Chemex laboratories in
Vancouver, and the results were reviewed by Oromonte's VP Exploration and Mine
Development, Alex Cruz. The company has also contracted a 43-101 qualified
consultant to inspect the drill core and drillsite.
The assay methodology followed the Fire Assay Procedure (Au-AA26) using
Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS). This is a 50 gr sample with a rank
detection between 0.01-100 ppm. Where the sample was (greater than)100 ppm,
the (Au-GRA22) Fire Assays-Gravimetric Procedure for Ore Grade Samples was
used. This is a 30gr sample with a range detection between 0.05-1000 ppm. This
method detects the real gold value.
In addition, one hundred and ten samples from drill holes SG20, SG21 and
part of SG22 have been submitted to ALS Chemex for analysis. The drilling
program is continuing in Nambija to evaluate skarn bodies for further mine
development.

Other updates:

Nambija Adverse Tribunal Resolution
-----------------------------------
The Government of Ecuador's appeal of the lower level tribunal resolution
is proceeding through the Ecuadorian legal system. In view of the granting of
the appeal process, the prior order will not be carried out and therefore no
notice to the Zamora Registrar office to implement the tribunal resolution
will be issued. The legal advice received by Oromonte is to continue carrying
on business as usual with the expectation that the low level tribunal
resolution will be overturned on appeal by the Supreme Court of Ecuador. It is
Oromonte's understanding that the same position has been adopted by the other
current holders of mining concession titles in the Nambija area.

Gold Production
---------------
Oromonte's gold production at its Gold Star mine for September was
2.2 kilograms.

Pangui Project
--------------
VP Exploration and Mine Development, Alex Cruz, is currently conducting
on-site and documentary research of the newly acquired (34,731 hectare) Pangui
Project. In his preliminary investigation, he notes that: "The Pangui Project
has gold placers in the area which are extremely good indicators of primary
gold sources."
