I think you have your chickens all scrambled up with your eggs. People of a certain age didn't start out non-religious. They became non-religious because the naturalistic explanations came to make so much more sense than what they grew up with. The investment is not what you think it is. Things could just as easily swing back were other explanations to start making more sense than the ones currently favored.
