I think you misunderstand the concept of "argument from authority".

An argument from authority is something along the lines of "X is right because Y says it is right". It is often a weak form of argument. Its only convincing if you accept Y as a solid authority, and even then it isn't perfect (the best authorities can be wrong).

An argument from authority is an argument that is JUST from authority. A well reasoned analysis from someone who you would respect as an authority isn't "an argument from authority". An argument from authority is when the argument is based on the authority, not on facts or reason.
