Dick Tracy and the Lone Ranger! We must be about the same vintage, although I suspect I'm a bit older. Many years ago, and I've gone over this with Carolyn a few times, I worked in an art department for Lockheed-Martin. One of the artists in that department illustrates the Dick Tracy strip today. He did prior to my meeting him, as well. He worked for Chester Gould, the creator of Dick Tracy. When Gould died, the Chicago Trib bought rights to the strip and hired my friend, Dick Locher, to continue illustrating it. Dick turned it over to another for a couple of years to come to Denver just to get some "varied" illustration experience. Upon returning to Chicago, Dick and his grown son took over the strip once again. Sadly, Dick's son died long ago, but Dick continues to illustrate the strip today.

I worked with several guys in that department that went on to great things in the art world. More on that another time.
