It took the Swedish opposition 15 years to understand, that you cannot win on criticising obvious mistakes of those in power only. They won when they changed tactics to come up with a better alternative to the socialists in power.

Same story in the US with the sole difference being that the(this time in opposition) socialists - here called liberals and dems - still need to come up with constructive and better alternatives to win.

Or hang out for 15 years or so until they finally learn a lesson the hard way.
