Problem with your strategy is that one wrong play like SSSU or even CSHD or AWYB would kill the many gains you'd get of a penny or less on the ones you'd play correctly. On the big runners like SSSU, you'd be competing with MM's and would get severely whipsawed.

My own thinking is that many of these sub-penny plays are just jumping on the bandwagon to hide their own diluting and dumping ways. However, that is NOT to say that the FTD and Naked Short Scam does NOT exist. There is plenty of scamming to go around, including scamming by hedge funds and MM's.

I think you and I agree in that all of this could go away with transparency of information. That has to start with the SEC and Congress. The industry doesn't want this to happen because hedge funds and brokers are paying the bills of our regulators.

Some of these tiny companies have trading that is just overwhelmed by volume and I suspect that the MM's figure they can err on the side of not worrying about whether they have shares or not. They see money (volume) coming in and they just sell, shares or not. If they get caught on a few like SSSU, SLJB, etc., then perhaps we will see changes in the system.
