Flash memory overcapacity needs correction-ASML CEO Wed Oct 18, 2006 9:20am ET AMSTERDAM, Oct 18 (Reuters) - Dutch electronic chip equipment maker ASML Holding NV said on Wednesday there was overcapacity in flash memory production that would require a correction in the future. "Flash memory does indeed call for a correction at some time," Chief Executive Eric Meurice said in a conference call. ASML earlier on Wednesday reported record sales and profit in the third quarter, above most analysts' forecasts thanks to huge demand for memory chips used in MP3 players.
