Last time my Dad was in he almost bled to death, my mom said only the obvious short tempers of my Brother and I convinced the Doctor to give him a transfusion. I have had to invoke POA several times to force Doctors or nurses to do what was obviously necessary. Exhaustion is often a problem in our ER's. Standard wait times are in the 6 or 7 hour range. But no Black kids with bullet holes get pretty quick attention, we have some pretty good Black Advocates here, they demonstrate regularly and over everything.
