I spent much of today in Monterey at the aquarium paying my second visit to the Great White shark they have in captivity.

He is beautiful! I was at the glass as he swam by and we looked at each other.............eyeball to eyeball with a Great White!!!!

The shark is actually the darkest colored shark in the Outer Bay tank. When he swims above you one can see the white underbelly but his back is relatively dark compared to the other sharks.

There were Hammerheads and another shark species in the tank with some large tuna...........one weighed 600lbs.

The Great White is the only one in captivity in the world and only the second to be successfully maintained in captivity. The only other Great White shark, a female, was kept alive by the same aquarium last year.

I did get some pix of him..............what a beautiful creature he is.

I"ll go back again in another month or so and check on his progress............Monterey is such a gorgeous place.........and the seafood is good too.

:>)

Watch the video of his feeding!
