Unterberg notes over the last six months SIRF's stock has been under considerable pressure, and has fallen roughly 45%, vastly underperforming the Philadelphia Semiconductor SOX index, which is down 13% over the same period. Firm believes that expectations are modest and consensus ests for Q3 are eminently achievable. Firm also believes that Q4 ests likely have room for modest upward revision. Firm says there is a very modest 2H/1H sales acceleration factored into their and Street ests. Firm currently ests that 2H06 sales will account for only 55% of full-year sales. Firm thinks holiday sales of products incorporating SIRF's chips should be strong. Firm believes that even an in-line report/guidance would result in a meaningful upward bias on the stock and they would therefore be buyers of the stock going into the call.
