There is no way of knowing for sure the answer or that the assumptions you mention are true. On the pinksheets, MM games are notorious, particularly when a stock is an unsolicitied pinkie. The MM's play games, go off the quote matrix, etc., when they want to "get around" the rules.

Flippers, shorts, MM's, hedge funds - all are very secretive. It's like being at a poker game. Nobody wants to give away their hand.
