TJ, the existing monetary system is an anachronism, irrespective of your happy idea that everyone carries a nuke to blow up anyone. Come to think of it, if everyone carried a nuke and could each, individually, blow up a city, there would be a LOT less governmental and other harassment of individuals as the return on investment would be low. <

Normally, one simply calls "Stand and deliver" and the victim hands over their goods and services. When nuclear-armed, they could hand over a nuke and render the transaction pointless. After a few people had done that, there would a lovely Libertarian way of life among humans who would interact on a voluntary basis. The silly Hans wouldn't go marching around the place bossing people around. Tibet could have nuked China. Taiwan would remain how Taiwanese want to be. Taiwan might break up further into smaller units. Right down to village level and maybe smaller still. All autonomous and self-determining.

Personally, I prefer a more enthusiastic adoption of voluntary relationships without the threat of having to nuke people, but realistically, about 70% of people are keen on bossing others around and helping themselves to the efforts of the enslaved.

I had better hurry with the Qi to head off your nuclear-armed nightmare.
