I do understand the naked shorting issue. My question is why an MM or Hedge Fund would be dumping shorts into this issue when the claim is that the A/F is just days away, which, hopefully, will blow the top off of the current price.

it sounds like any major shorting at this point would be a dangerous proposition for the shorter.
