Even if you don't care about the victims of 911, that's just bad foreign policy.

As a matter of fact I was outraged when the last person to go the the US was the Liberal Prime Minister Jean Chretien. I was horrified when the US asked Canada to tighten it's borders and the Liberal Canadian Government said there was no need. no-one who has entered Canada thinks the border is even remotely secure.
The matriarch of the al kadhr family and her children frequently lost passports in their world of leading al Qaeda training camps. And we rushed to issue new ones for everyone they lost. OTOH, after years of neglect, Canada couldn't transfer the equipment needed for our adventure in Afghanistan, the US moved it. Having agreed to go, now that we have a new Government the Liberals who ordered the troops into Afghanistan are now questioning why they are there. martin sent troops to Iraq without even the proper uniforms, and without necessary training. Why would any rational human being think this was a good idea?

And it is just like the treaty of 1814. The Liberals changed it. It wasn't an important treaty, but they hid the fact that it had been changed. Why? because the treaty of 1812 forbade the patrolling of the Great lakes by armed vessels. Now the US is using the Great lakes for armed coast guard boats and practice with live Munitions.
