I can not beleive it, another CATX holder; Are you lying. I called the
public relation lady are CATX and found out some interesting things.
-She said that the Korean derivative market is growing and that they
signed up 3 Korean banks so far to use the C*atalyst system. I have
only seen the story on this one so far.
-She said the Lor/G acquisition added a lot of people to the payroll
and that no signicant revenues would come from Lor/G. You could
really see this in the R&D expense for the 2nd qtr.
-She said the "Carma" product was in Alpha testing and that it would
be released during the 4th qtr of this year. I believe this was
the reason CATX bought them for $6.5 million. It sounds like this
is going to be a great product.
-When asked about the license revenue shortfall from 1st to 2nd
qtr, she said it was due to some license renewal problems. I do not
know if they were delayed or scrapped by the Licensor. This was about
300,000 or .05 EPS.
-The rep also said we should not expect significant revenues gains
until the first qtr of 1997. This makes sense if the new product
will not be released until the 4th qtr.
-It looks like the reason for the downward pressure is T.Rowe Price.
They held 200,000 shs of Catx as of 3/31/96 according to the 13F
filings on Bloomberg. I have a 5/31/96 Annual report from VALIC
(T.Rowe Price is their subadvisor) showing that the fund now holds
only 180,000 shs. I can not imagine them selling just 20K shs and
stopping. The other big holder is State of Wisconsin Pension Plan
and they own like 1 mil shs and they haven't sold any according
to the 13F report as of 6/30/96. I will let you know what the 6/30/96
13F for T Rowe says when it comes out on Bloomberg. I know someone
has been selling a lot of shares, just look at the charts. I would
appreciate any other info you have.
