Hank, I made a mistake with Datek that I will not repeat! I instructed my bank to wire $300k to them on Wed. afternoon. Their bank (Chase) acknowledged that the money was deposited in Datek's account at 1pm on Thursday. I expected to be able to trade with the new money on Thursday. As of the end of the day Friday the money has still not been credited to my account. After being on hold for 30 minutes, Datek tells me that they now "freeze" incoming money for about 5 trading days, Maybe I can use the money by next Thursday. I demanded that my money be wired back. They said I could not ask for the money back until after it had been credited to my account and then that would also take about 5 trading days. In a nutshell they are scamming about a weeks interest off the money coming and going. I guess that I have been spoiled by doing business with Farsight. I can wire money into or out of that account in 1 hour flat. My only reason for switching to Datek is to gain access to Island so as to get inside the MM spread as Vet has been doing. If I sound a bit angry at Datek it is because I am.
