"The fact that they go through disputed waters doesn't make the claim bogus, but it does make it "the current reality".

The reality of the US ship entering our water in the 80's says nothing at all about claims against Canada's sovereignty. Over and over again you imply that force is an argument. You have not offered one shred of evidence to dispute Canada's claim to her own waterways. I acknowledge that there are pragmatic reasons for certain countries to dispute Canada's right to the waterways; there may even be legal grounds; but the fact that a country has the power to assert whatever it may choose to assert is not an argument, Tim. You must get over this idea.

I know for damn sure that if the US owned Canada, you would not be claiming the US claim was a "fiction"!! LOL!!

"Unambiguously supporting one side is dismissing the other."

As the only "evidence" or "argument" you have presented is that might makes right, I must consider your "unambiguous support" (which you have only just now indicated your support as such to be) as thoughtless and rude. Your introduction of the subject was gratuitous and suspicious. Your subsequent vacillation between fictional or maybe not quite fictional or unambiguous support for one side or the other is all too too meaningless and confusing for me to follow with an old pair of runners. But thanks for the "argument"!
