Over and over again you imply that force is an argument.

No. I haven't done that once in this discussion. The closest I came to it was to say that Canada might not be able to enforce its claims, but the lack of ability to enforce the claims doesn't say anything about the validity of the claims, and I never said it did. I also said the default was that ships do pass through. That's not as much an issue of force, but rather an issue of what actually happens. It could become a matter of force, but hopefully and probably it will not. In fact I consider the odds that it will be determined by raw force alone to be close to zero, and thats a very good thing.

but the fact that a country has the power to assert whatever it may choose to assert is not an argument, Tim. You must get over this idea.

That seems to be Canada's argument more than mine. They assert the full sovereignty over the waters and other countries don't accept that. Even if you bought the idea that the waters were territorial waters (a very questionable assertion) there would still be the right of passage.

As the only "evidence" or "argument" you have presented is that might makes right

That's the exact opposite of the truth. I've made other arguments, and I haven't made that argument.
