<<Sector. I'm an Ascend newbie. Doesn't it make sense that if Ascend was going to
miss this quarter by more than 20% then they would have preannounced by now?
Am I correct that Ascend's 8K filing in August which estimates their July sales
started the decline in the share price?>>

I think you are probably correct. A disaster qtr would have been
pre-announced with as positive a spin as they could - and then
announce the NTT and UUNET contracts.

Since they did not do this, I think ASND felt (feels?) that they
could still make the qtr or come close - hence the guidance resulting
in most analyst's reducing estimates to $0.32-0.33 range.

The first decline came in Q2 when UBS analyst played up the 56K issue.
ASND still made the qtr, but just barely. Then the 8K, followed by
the Europe certification issue.

Anyone, has ASND EVER missed a qtr before by more than a penny or two?
Their track record is excellent - why is everyone assuming disaster?
