I noticed that CMGI discontinued some of their software developments of supply chain software? It seemed that supply chain of different businesses use their own trade secrets. If one automatic function does not work for one trade, it may work for other trades. The most important in supply chain software is still object technology of customer behavior to predict new merchandises that will sell? Is it weight loss that propelled Mcdonald's new products? Is department stores a place to find goods for future entertainment? Clothing, TV, time saving devices to do house chores(some can even entertain like robot vacuum cleaners)? R&D for supply chain software has to be more focused on generators(object technology) of primary purpose of higher standard of living needs?
