This is easier said than done!

However, as America is largely Christian, there resides in the
American people's consciousness the "us-Christian against them-Muslim" syndrome and so whatever the evangelicals (and/or crooks who profess to be Christian) say often gains traction in the consciousness of most Americans. (BTW, don't forget that most Iraqis refer to the Americans in their country as Crusaders.)
Is it any wonder why there has been no country-wide outrage against the criminal actions taken by Bush and his henchmen? And no strident calls for Bush's impeachment? I suppose this has to wait until the Repubs are defeated come November 7th? Can you be sure the Repubs will not spring a surprise again?

BTW, the favourite tactics employed by organized religion and politicians to control their followers are

GUILT (as in "you are a sinner") and

SUBTLE BLACKMAIL (as in a line from one of Bush's recent speeches " “With the distance of history, the questions will be narrowed and few: Did this generation of Americans take the threat seriously, and did we do what it takes to defeat that threat?”)
