"Where did you learn economic theory?" en.wikipedia.org The important part is this en.wikipedia.org In other words, reject observations as too complex and reject historical data because it could be contaminated. Just build a logical structure based on some hypotheses that make sense to you. Whether or not it actually maps to any consensual reality doesn't appear to be a concern.
