iptv roll out may be delayed because of software not being compatible to all computers.

Mainly Mpeg2/4 are not suitable for Mpeg1 media in existence. Docsis servers may have to be used to support the cheap set-top boxes. docsis is used in cable set-top boxes.

Then ethernet packets are not dotnet(soap) packets, and Mpeg1-4 codecs are not supported. Some bsd/unix computers can not handle the present set-top box ethernet packets for web downloads(MSN.com). telco is Verizon.

Until ARRS and a set-top box manufacturer can cooperate, telcos will have very few customers sign on to their imperfect iptv system?
