Good point. There's another argument that thwarts liberal propagandists and their silly oil motive accusations re the US move into Iraq. Many wacky conspiracy theorists insist oil is the primary reason for US presence in Iraq, yet the most cost effective method to get Iraq's oil would've been cooperation with Saddam Hussein. He was more than willing to sell the oil to the US, and that was exactly the route taken by France with Hussein. It explains as well why France refused to offer military help with Iraq.
