We will know soon. I think the next 2-3 quarters will determine soft vs. hard landing. Angelo Mozilo, the CEO of Countrywide stated during a conference call on July 25th: "I've never seen a soft landing in 53 years, so we have a ways to go before this levels out. I have to prepare the company for the worst that can happen."
