Petz - Re: " it certainly uses its inside information about future Intel processors to stay ahead of the competition and push towards monopoly market share."

Of course they do - they're not stupid! By the way, there is nothing to stop other chip set manufacturers from designing CPU chips so they can do the same thing. Isn't AMD doing the same thing? Aren't they giving special information to Via Technologies? Did they also provide this information to Intel for Socket 7 chip sets with AGP?

Re:" Isn't it true that a company is prohibited from displaying INTEL INSIDE if it also sells K6 computers?"

You're really confusing yourself on this one. Haven't you seen IBM's Intel Inside stickers, ACER's Intel Inside Stickers, and Compaq's Intel Inside compouters? Sure you have, Petz! Musta just slipped your mind. These companies buy CPUs from AMD AND CYRIX and still display the Intel Inside Logo.

By the way - I saw IBM's nifty looking "IBM K6" logo - impressive!

Intel reimburses their customers if their customer advertises PC's with the Intel Inside logo prominantly displayed PROVIDING no other PC with a non-Intel CPU is advertised on the same page. These are terms and EVERY PC OEM is free to accept them or reject them. Free choice.

Re: "the Clinton administration has done diddly squat in the area
of anti-trust."

Clinton was re-elected. I guess enough people were satisfied with his anti-trust performance.

I beleive what you and AMD really need is an Affirmative Action Plan for CPU purchases. EVERY PC OEM should be required to buy a per centage of their CPU purchases from AMD, and Cyrix and IDT and Sara Lee, and Ben & Jerry, and whoever else decides they wanna be in the CPU business.
