That's true, I think. With today's history firmly in the mind of all revolutionary leaders everywhere- who have seen Britain, France, and the US (among others) get their asses handed to them in wars/conflicts with native revolutionaries- people in occupied countries are savvy enough to start the revolutions early and often, and keep them up, and they know the great powers are not prepared to be as brutal as the local powers, because countries like the US claim to have "noble" purposes of "peace", or some other nonsense. While fighting a war for peace is way too much like screwing for virginity (I'm all for fighting wars to repell agressors, but that's not "war for peace" that's war to repel aggressors"), somehow some folks in this country bought that line, and also that you could export democracy at the point of a gun, or imprint it in the soil of Iraq like tank treds. It's a sad sad day when dreams that are this out of whack die, but Mr. Bush's unrealistic dreams were stillborn from conception. It's only kindness to bury them now, before they cause any more death and chaos. IMO
